A Formal Concept Analysis Approach for Web Usage Mining
نویسندگان
چکیده
Web usage mining aims to discover interesting user access patterns from web logs. Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is an effective data analysis technique based on ordered lattice theory. In this paper, we propose a novel FCA approach for web usage mining. In our approach, the FCA technique is applied to mine association rules from Web Usage Lattice constructed from web logs. The discovered knowledge (association rules) can then be used for practical web applications such as web recommendation and personalization. We apply the FCA-mined association rules to web recommendation and compare its performance with that of classical Apriori-mined rules. The results indicate that the proposed FCA approach not only generates far fewer rules than Apriori-based algorithms, the generated rules are also of comparable quality with respect to three objective performance measures.

متن کاملWeb Usage Mining for Semantic Web Personalization
With the explosive growth of information on the Web, it has become more difficult to access relevant information from the Web. One possible approach to solve this problem is web personalization. In Semantic Web, user access behavior models can be shared as ontology. Agent software can then utilize it to provide personalized services such as recommendation and search. To achieve this, we need to...

Nowadays the use of e-learning systems is increasing, especially in academia. Most researchers use Web Usage Mining (WUM) techniques to study the behavior of users of such systems. The results thus obtained are used to enhance e-learning systems or make different predictions. Current tools used for Web Usage Mining can offer a partial view on the usage of such systems. This paper presents the u...

One of the most famous methods for recommendation is user-based Collaborative Filtering (CF). This system compares active user’s items rating with historical rating records of other users to find similar users and recommending items which seems interesting to these similar users and have not been rated by the active user. As a way of computing recommendations, the ultimate goal of the user-ba...
متن کاملBuilding and Exploiting Ad Hoc Concept Hierarchies for Web Log Analysis
Web usage mining aims at the discovery of interesting usage patterns from Web server log files. “Interestingness” relates to the business goals of the site owner. However, business goals refer to business objects rather than the page hits and script invocations recorded by the site server. Hence, Web usage analysis requires a preparatory mechanism that incorporates the business goals, the conce...
